I dont think that's true..
I am using Windows XP for downloading torrents for a long time
and I have never faced an OS related issue with uTorrent.
According to me, if the OS is configured properly and if you are not using
all those unstable third party applications, Windows XP is as stable as
any Linux and as we all know, Windows is much user friendly too....
