Default Re: Linux in Nokia 6600

Code:
I have a Nokia 6600 phone which was making hell a lot of
troubles. So i flashed the phone and now the situation is much worse.
None of my applications are working and the service guy says that my
phone's life has ended. So I'm planning to ressurrect it by installing
embedded linux in it. Is it possible to install linux in the phone.
Throw me some light on this aspect.
Why so you will have even more trouble?
I am half joking here as I have no experience or info on this.
But as far as I can tell embedded linux on mobiles has not become mature
yet. I could be wrong here though.

Code:
This is Nokia 6600 specs:

* Runs Series 60 v2 (based on Symbian 7.0s)
* Runs Java (J2ME with CLDC v1 and MIDP v2)
* Supports IR and Bluetooth
* Does GSM (triband), HSCSD and GPRS
* 176 x 208 65536 colour screen
* Runs on an ARM processor (104 MHz ARM9 cpu, probably a ARM920T),
on the ARM Integrator platform
* Internally mounted MMC Card (full size, normal 3v)
* Sound card which does mono, 8 bit, 16kHz sound
if you are up to the task go ahead.
But bear in mind that the project cannot be taken lightly.
Do you have any websites that give more info on how to do this?
Remember one thing. With the advent of Internet these days if something
is popular and doable it is very likely someone has posted something
about it.

Thanks
