Alright, so I had plans to resurrect my ngage qd with similar specs as
well but the problem is, hacking tux on to a hardware with zero docs
regarding the same is quite difficult.
For example, things like flashing bootloader in the correct place.
AFAIK, the memory blocks where bootloaders and stuff are flashed are
magic "numbers" known only to the manufacturers. Correct me if I am
wrong with this.
And some other problems might crop up as well, The most obvious of these
is of course device drivers to talk to the kernel.
Sure, you can talk to the gsm modem of your phone through plain serial
(if at all you want to speak in "AT"), assuming you are able to boot to
some initlevel first. Ah, and who can forget the display driver of the
mobile.
So, IMO without the comprehensive hardware docs, its very "unpossible"

.
But yes, if you are feeling geeky,
gumstix - dream, design, deliver
And OpenEmbedded (OE) Project to know more about the fat penguin on your
mobile devices,
OpenEmbedded | Metadata for building Distributions - preferably Embedded target platforms
And the first freed phone (neo1973) running Openmoko, which derives from OE
Openmoko.org Portal Site
