i have read a artile that using Pear/ dboject file for communicating with DB.. how it help in increasing the compatability. and wat are the advantages and disadvantages while using it..

and also i have read that when migrating from MySql to Oracle .. we don't need to do any chages in the code part (SQuery and othe rconnected.) just by setting teh parametes is enough.. is it so..
