NSIS (Nullsoft Scriptable Install System) is a professional open source system to create Windows installers. It is designed to be as small and flexible as possible and is therefore very suitable for internet distribution.

We can create setup files using Visual studio itself, then why we are going for this third party setup creator? Is there any advantage in using this NSIS installer?

yes....we have to create setup and need to adopt to their way(microsoft)....here many options..are available..In the first example i saw..adding bg image......is there any option display your image in VS installer....like that many options they are providing....
