I don't know much about ColdFusion myself but I did a little searching and found these sites:

Adobe - Adobe ColdFusion 8 the official coldfusion site.

and

Open Directory - Computers: Programming: Internet: ColdFusion the listings for cold fusion on the Open Directory. This has several links to resources.

Surprisingly w3schools.com (my favourite site for programming help) doesn't seem to have anything on coldfusion.

Default Questions about ColdFusion (ColdFusion vs. PHP)

I am pretty clueless about ColdFusion. I overheard some classes on ColdFusion when I was using the computer lab at my uni and that is about as close to learning about ColdFusion as I have gotten so far.

What I want to know is: why use coldfusion instead of other server side languages like php?

Is there some advantage with coldfusion over an open source solution like php?

Cold fusion, sometimes called low energy nuclear reactions (LENR) or condensed matter nuclear science, is a set of effects reported in controversial laboratory experiments at ordinary temperatures and pressures; some researchers claim these effects are caused by nuclear reactions.

ColdFusion is a programming language based on standard HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) that is used to write dynamic webpages. It lets you create pages on the fly that differ depending on user input, database lookups, time of day or whatever other criteria you dream up! ColdFusion pages consist of standard HTML tags such as FONT SIZE=.+2., together with CFML (ColdFusion Markup Language) tags such as CFQUERY, CFIF and CFLOOP. ColdFusion was introduced by Allaire in 1996, acquired by Macromedia in a merger in April 2001, and acquired by Adobe in December 2005. It is currently in version 7.0.1, but the next version of the product (codenamed Scorpio) is already in development.
