| If you are still using Windows 98 and XP multiboot configuration, you must have noticed that when you are coping the contents of your DVD to your hard disk, XP takes almost twice the time of Windows 98. This is due to some bad implementation of error correction routine in XP and can be solved by resetting the DMA status of the device from PIO. Easy way to do this is by removing your secondary IDE channel, then re detecting it. |

| Thanks... But everytime I select the DMA mode, the setting automatically reverts back to PIO mode the next time I go to the settings page. Is there any solution from the particular issue ? |
