Default got a new comp

Well, after planning on my first build, my mom went out and bought a seminew computer (referbished). (I'm 17 btw, to clarify) She feels that I am not qualified to build my own computer since I havnt done it before and thats why she went and bought one. She got it at fry's, and it has....

intel quad q6600
advertizes viiv w/e that is
2 gb ddr2667
400 gb hdd
geforce 7950
+other standard stuff you know

$800 for that above
+5 yr prot plan $190
+1gb more she bought extra for $26
+geforce 8600 gt $118
+thermaltake 500 wat ps $70
total: $1204 before tax

I dont want to settle on this, and I am currently trying to get a friend to agree to help me build a computer so we can return this. If by chance I cant return it though, will this be an OK computer?

Default Re: got a new comp

Four hundred gigabyte hard disk drive seems to be enough for me. All you have to change is the motherboard, memory and the CPU.
BTW, where would you use it for? If you are just going to use on text based programs like MS word, and others alike, then I would suggest that you should save the money for something else. If you are planning to use it on computer games then add the video card to what I have already mentioned.
