Project looking Glass is Sun Microsystem's effort to create a 3d desktop based on Java. The project still is in its initial stage however the screenshots are impressive. It does seem to need a lot of resources as it was sluggish when i tried it on my computer.It may also be due to it being based on Java.

Well it is good. But still, as its java based, its sluggish. I'd better stick to linux/windows for now!

haha that looks so awesome actually, but I can imagine it running rather slow. I'll be looking forward to a later release once they get the bugs out and have it running rather nice. And all this time I thought java was redundent! How wrong I was...?
