Default Why not switch to JSP?

PHP is undoubtedly the most popular web scripting language. Java Server Pages (JSP) is also another web scripting language which allows Java codes in HTML. Given the powerful features of Java, how come JSP in not gaining the much needed attention?

I'm not very familiar with all the programs/software that you just mention.I know I've heard about PHP but JSP? Not yet. But I'd say, you have a point.

Most of the peoples likely to use the PHP for developing the WebPages, Since the combination Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP (LAMP) , which all the things including database, server and OS are available for free of cost & the combination gives more productivity. Hence PHP is better known rather than JSP.

The reason why PHP is more populare than JSP is that
PHP is an open source with lot of built ins

I don't use JSP because I rather use PHP since its open source, and plus I know PHP better than JSP.
