| How good are you in accepting criticism? I've just realized that you should be always open to new ideas so that you could excel in any thing that you are going through. I just found this out the hard way. Any experience where you regret you didn't listen to a suggestion that was given to you? |

| I agree that it is very important to be able to put aside personal knee-jerk reactions to criticism. But it helps to be able to sense the intent behind the criticism to begin with. If it is meant as constructive criticism, then use it, but if the intent is malicious, just let it bounce off. That's tough, especially in the case of technical achievements. You may pour days or months of work into a project, just to have someone brush it off as being ugly, or something. In a case like that, you have to determine whether the person is indicative of the general public, or just being a jerk. Just remember that you can learn from all sorts of unpleasant experiences. | I agree with the above post. I also consider the source of the criticism. If someone's hiring me, I'll put more weight to what they say than to someone who's not worked in the area. |
