There are lots of questions related to FTP server. Firstly I want to know about the difference between FTP and SFTP? And why we are using Secure FTP instead of FTP? And why is SFTP better than FTP? The difference between FTP and SFTP is that, SFTP is secured transmission of data whereas FTP is not...

SFTP uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) thereby protecting the entire data transmitted from the host and the user including the username and password from network sniffers, whereas FTP tramits the data including the user/pass in clear text over the wire, which makes it really easy for persons with unauthorized access to record the password information...
