Access Free Yahoo! Mail with Outlook

To retrieve mail from and send mail through a free Yahoo! Mail account in Outlook:

* Install YPOPs! and make sure it is running.
* Open Outlook.
* Select Tools | E-Mail Accounts... from the menu.
* Make sure Add a new e-mail account is selected.
* Click Next >.
* Check POP3.
* Click Next >.
* Type your name under Your Name:.
* Enter your Yahoo! Mail address under E-mail Address:.
* Type "localhost" under both Incoming mail server (POP3): and Outgoing mail server (SMTP):.
o If "localhost" later turns out not to work, you can try "127.0.0.1" instead.
* Type your Yahoo! ID under User Name:.
o The Yahoo! ID is also the first part of your Yahoo! Mail address, i.e.#

* everything before "@yahoo.com". If your Yahoo! Mail address is "hmmzl34@yahoo.com", the ID is "hmmzl34".
* Enter your Yahoo! Mail password under Password:.
* Click More Settings ....
* Go to the Outgoing Server tab.
* Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked.

* Leave Use same settings as my incoming mail server selected.
* Click OK.
* Now click Next >.
* Click Finish.

Give Your Outlook Accounts Friendly Names

To give your Outlook accounts friendly names:

* Select Tools | E-Mail Accounts... from the menu in Outlook.
* Make sure View or change existing e-mail accounts.
* Click Next >.
* Highlight the desired account with its old name.
* Click Change....
* Now click More Settings ....
* Go to the General tab.
* Under Mail Account, enter the name you want the account to go by.
* Click OK.
* Now click Next >.
* Click Finish.

Change the Name From Which Your Emails are Sent in Windows Mail or Outlook Express

To change the name from which your emails are sent in Windows Mail or Outlook Express:

* Select Tools | Accounts... from the menu.
* Go to the Mail tab.
* Highlight the desired email account.
* Click Properties.
* Make sure the General tab is selected.
* Type the name you want to appear in the From: line of your emails in the Name: field under User Information.
* Click OK.
* Now click Close.

Change the Account Order in Outlook

To change the order of your email accounts in Outlook:

* Select Control Panel from the Start menu.
* Open the Mail item.
* Select E-mail Accounts from the Mail Setup dialog.
* Make sure View or change existing e-mail accounts is selected.
* Click Next.
* Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to change the processing order as desired.
* Click Finish.

ya this is really bad habbit of mine also ,,,,,,
i really need to change y such habbits as they are not very beneficial on long run basis......
