Both are equally good. You can do more things with Eclipse via plugins. For example with Eclipse i code C/C++, Python and Java,J2ME and i edit Latex documents also.
The GUI builder of Netbeans is very nice. I am not sure if there is such thing in Eclipse ( or if there is one it might not be as efficient)

it is just a matter of taste, try both and pick up the one you like.

Netbeans: Easier to pick up and start development. Has more features "out of the box".

Eclipse: Lighter on your computer (less of a memory hog). Also very good. Easier to extend.

This might be useful for J2ME enthusatists, but I don't think any serious games use the high level UI widgets.

yes of course, i was not talking about game, just basic application which does not required advanced or fancy looking GUI.

It's more accurate to say, they're for quick and dirty apps.
Even for a simple GUI I would not use them, because they are so ugly and make the UI non-intutive

Well, regarding plugins, the same can be done in NetBeans as well (C/C++, Latex, etc.) the only difference is that standard NetBeans distribution comes with most of the functionality and people don't need to download plugins from third parties. But it is possible too:
