| Hi Friends I have Beetel modem working with DHCP and NAT. I have a netgear router connected to the beetel and connected my computer behind this. Since my netgear router is wireless I planned to purchase a access point because I don't need a wireless card. I have setup the Access point in the client mode and connected to the netgear router . According to the theory it should work but its not working. I have connected the Hawking access point to the computer and able to ping the access point but not able to ping my router. I have not given any static ip address and able to release and renew the ip address in my computer !!!! When I have check the site survey it is connected to my network only and I don't have any WEP or WPA enabled for the time being. Worst part is when I connect the access point to the router and computer to the router I am not able to ping the router but able to ping the access point and able to login to. Again when the access point is wireless and my computer is connected to the router I am able to ping the access point wirelessly ..I don't know how this is working . But when I connect the computer back to the access point I am not able ping the router . I think I have confused a lot .. because I am confused how this is not working. All the firmware's are latest

| Hi Suresh.. let me explain you.. firstly..You have only mentioned your physical test setups and results, but, haven't mentioned what IP addresses you have used in each, or what were the actual ping outputs you got. There are different ping replies (ICMP) based on the error - without which, it is hard to tell what is your logical setup and secondly.. first get wireless working without encryption, and then you can play with WEP or WPA. Thanks

| Hi Thanks for the reply, My modem Out put has 192.168.1.xxx range. My router (Netgear) has 192.168.0.xxx range ... My access point is in Router range and I have changed the ip address to 192.168.0.240. When computer connected to the router I get 4 replies from 192.168.0.240. when I ping the access point (Access point is not connected to the router hardwired it is wireless ) When computer connected to the Access point I get 4 request timedout. Thanks
