Default Timezone problem in Windows Vista machine

Timezone problem in Windows Vista machine

Hi all,
I am testing my application in Vista mach, but I am facing some problems: when the application starts, it gathers the time zone information of the client mach. It was working fine in other OS like NT, XP, but had problem with VISTA.
What's exactly happening is, my code is trying to get the exact time zone.
If the time zone returned is the numeric added to GMT it tries to get the exact Time zone code. i.e.,
For e.g.: if the time zone extracted is GMT-5.00 ,then the o/p is "eastern standard time (EST)."
But in Vista mach, what ever the time zone is set, I am getting only the GMT and the offset or numeric added to it.
I think there is need to change the Vista sys setting.
Please help me out in my problem. If you have any clarifications, u can reply to this msg.

Hi...

I'm not sure which JRE you are using. I think 1.4.2_15 & 1.6 might have addressed this.

Bug ID: 6440819 [Vista build5384] (tz) platform time zone detection doesn't work on localized Vista
Release Notes: Java™ 2 SDK, Standard Edition Version 1.4.2_15
Bug ID: 6472644 (tz) Vista: Default timezone does not work
