Hi all,

i have the windows vista , when i am installing the updates, after appear a windows message, says filed update error found code 643, and don't install the update, what can i do?

I had a similar issue and found it to be a conflict of Vista with .NET framework 1.1.

Download and run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, and remove the .NET framework 1.1 from the machine.

Download .NET framework 1.1 from the Microsoft website and install it

Reboot your machine, then install .NET 1.1 SP1 from the Microsoft website and reboot your computer again. Then try to take the update once again.

I have same error faced my system these steps i followed and rectified this error can you try confident follow this step by step

1) Download and run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Use it to remove
the .NET Framework 1.1 from the machine.

2) Download .NET Framework 1.1 from the Microsoft website (don't download
via Windows Update), and save it to your hard disk (file name dotnetfx.exe).

3) Download .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1, and save it to your hard disk
(file name NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe)

4) Run the downloaded dotnetfx.exe to install .NET Framework 1.1.

5) Reboot your machine.

6) Run NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe to install .NET Framework 1.1 SP1.

7) Reboot your computer again.

8) Now run Windows Update again, to install post SP1 hotfixes.
