I have Windows XP .I have Started my system...all local drives are detected but not the CD Dirve..

Can anyone help

Did you check the BIOS,is CD detected there?


if not Check the BIOS settings

Check the device manager for driver's are installed properly..
if it shows "!" mark and says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.
then u need to update your driver

Hi,

Check whether jumper is available and make sure it should be configured as Master or slave,
If your IDE Hard Disk is configured to Master in Primary IDE controller configure the CD Drive to slave, Both Hard Disk and CD Drive should not be same in jumper setting. In some case without jumper cd drive will not detect
in Windows XP.

I have checked the BIOS and device manager...it doesn't shows the drive

I have checked My Cd drive in another system..it detected and working
