 How to install Linux in my PC? I am having windows XP in my computer. I need to install Linux in my PC. My computer is having 1GB RAM and 80GB hard disk. Some of my friends are telling if u need to install Linux u must have allot 4GB to Linux in C: drive alone. Is it true? If so, can any one help me how to install Linux?

 Re: How to install Linux in my PC? Hello senthil, it all depends on how much software you plan to install. Today most installations require somewhere in the range of a gigabyte of space. This includes space for the software, swap space or swap partition (used as virtual RAM on your machine), i think that.. your swap space should be double the size of your RAM so it turns out to be 2GB ,(not sure) and some free space for users, and so on. What i would suggest is that.. a minimum of 2GB is enough for other partitions plus your swap partition Hope it helps.
