Is anyone on here using BlueJ for Java development?

I am beginning a university course and the software they use is BlueJ IDE if there is anyone using it what do you think of it?

When did this language appear? If I don't read this post I probably haven't found out it existed. Do you know where I can find some good sites to read about, I'm so curious.

BlueJ is a good tool for learning object oriented programming (OOP) using Java. This is ideal for instructional purposes. For full blown Java application development, there are tools like NetBeans, Eclipse, etc.
