This programming language was taught during our first year in college. I find it hard than VB. Unlike Pascal, Vb is very easy to learn. I thought that this language is not being used anymore. I was surprised when I heard that this is still being taught on the first year students in our school.

I can't figure out why they are still doing this. Is PASCAL still being used by companies? Can we still use this when we apply for a job?

It is being taught to most school because it is the basic among programming languages. You can’t just jump to any software that you can see. Basics are needed. Although there are lots of programming software this day, you can’t hide the fact that their algorithm as still the same.
