Why DreamWeaver for PHP Web Application Development ?

Macromedia Dreamweaver provides the most complete set of tools available for building, editing, and maintaining accessible websites and web applications. Most of my friend who are in PHP development uses DreamWeaver only for a long time. I asked them why you are using this, if you use some thing like Visual Stuido IDE for .net you can able to fast your development process, its become rapid development is it?

Do we have any other IDE for PHP Development which having all the features of Visual Studio 2005 IDE, Like Debugging, Team Projects, Source Safe, Database Server object, Auto Intelligence, etc..... ?

I hear about Zend Studio which have all the above, but i am not yet tried it.

I think Dreamweaver is a pretty good development environment for PHP. You get code hints, syntax highlighting, line numbering, and all sorts of other features.

And with some extensions available out there (like this one), you can have an integrated debugger too.

Thanks i tried the PHP Debugger for Dreamweaver. Its prety good. But can we have any tool for PHP development which give Source safe, Team Projects, like we have in Visual Studio Team Suite and Team foundation Server?

I think Dreamweaver itself having the debugging option for php code. And also to debug the code, need to configure it in web server. And Microsoft has released the latest version of VS 2005 for developing PHP in VS.

I like dreamweaver very much and have used it since i started making websites, i believe it makes using PHP much easier and allows for the user to learn quickly the ins and outs of PHP

I'm learning php now, taking some courses and had no idea that Dreamweaver was so useful for this programming language. Frontpage wasn't able to work with php, was it?
