what is the difference between .NET and PHP . which one is more advantage? if PHP solves all problem why we need .NET? what is drawback in PHP? how can we rectify that?

For .NET
1. This is Microsoft products
2. we have to pay for this to get license
3. Platform dependent
4. This is seperated with VB.NET and ASP.NET
5. Performance is well

i think that ASP.NET is not supported by all the OS except Windows, Linux. So that i said that it is dependent. Is there anything wrong? because i know little bit abt .NET
