I want you people's help on how should I market my products ? I don't even know the M of marketing, so your tips will be very very valuable for me.

A very good free way to start is by advertising in webmaster forums such as this one. Also, don't forget about your signature link. As people see that you know what you are talking about they will follow your signature link to see what you offer.

If you have done all the link exchanges and submitted to search enigines you are ready to get pretty detailed. This is where your writing skills will get a work out.

The first thing I suggest is looking at blog and "blog - like" writing.

Check out Squidoo, it falls under blog-like because it is not strictly blogging but there is a writing module that you can used for that purpose. The perks are almost too many for me to list here so I will just say...its is FREE!

There are those places where you can get paid...well its little pennies so don't do it for the pay...like Blogchex, Blogparty, and I can't think of the other one I saw. The beauty of these blogs is they are free to use, if you are good with keywords it will draw adsense like flies to.....honey, and there are alot of people on the site because they are drawn to the possibilities of making money. If you are marketting affiliates, it might be a great place to stack a proflie.

In this order:

- regularly advertise on webmaster forums, like this one
- write some content (or hire a content writer like me ) and place them on your site, then SEO your site and link the content pages to your main page
- but links, no link exchange
- submit to free directories, and paid if you have the money
- increase your PR by getting more backlinks than with the above methods
- write articles (or hire a content writer link me) and put your site in the bio, then submit them to as much article directories as you can
- increase backlinks for at least three months!!!!!

After you have waited this long, you should see organic and refferal traffic coming in. This is the most targetted way to get traffic. If you don't want to wait that long, use adwords

Does adwords help in the long run? or do you stop getting traffic the moment the money runs out?

If you bring in the right traffic it will have a residual effect. The hardest part is learning how to target your ads to get the traffic that will truly beneft from your site. If you bring in visitors who have no need for it they will never come back.

hrm thanks for that. I have been tossing up whether I should try using adwords or not on my site, or if it would benefit it at all. I think what I may do is wait till I have a lot more content and such and then start bringing in more visitors perhaps via adwords.

On topic again, could also try myspace marketing and such like that to get your name out there.

Myspace can work if marketed correctly and if your demographic uses Myspace. they do not take kindly to spammers. I wouls start by making a a page dedicated to Mario with some meaningful links to your page.

yeah I have been considering doing that a lot lately, and then maybe add some of the newest content to my blog on myspace and such. Build up a big friendslist manually, that kind of thing. I may have to look into it

Submit your site to relevant directories and the larger search engines. Also if it is a site with some repeat traffic offer a freebie or some goods every now and them to keep em comig back or even referring your site to others.

I agree, try to be more creative. How about adding some scripts to attract clients better. Although, simple is also beautiful. Just be able to market your site better by following some of the advices in this post.
