| Google came up with an innovative technology called as "PageRank", it determines the number of links pointing to a website and also the number of links pointing to a particular website is more then higher is its rank in the search results.

| Review of Google The Google search engine (URL: Google) launched in September 1999 is now the largest and most popular search engine by far on the internet. This is largely due to the top quality of Google's Page Rank Technology which is based on link analysis (link popularity and link quality) and content analysis (relevance+freshness of content and location+frequency of keywords). Google crawls the web and maintains a huge index of cached pages (the largest among the search engines), that is updated often (approximately every 2 days) to show the freshness of its results. Google is our top search engine but we also use other key players like Yahoo!, MSN, Ask Jeeves, Altavista and Teoma, as each search engine adds its own spice. You can rely on Google to give you the best resultant links with the content that you are looking for. This is due to Googlers who aggressively stick to their Quality value - There is no paid inclusion into the main results which is absolutely free and depends on the quality of your site - and to the Freshness of their main results. | I want to get my ranking in 1 to 10 in Google. But my most of the competitors are .edu and .gov sites. As you all know that Google gives more importance to .edu sites and .gov sites. Sometimes I was ranking 1 to 10 on some of keywords but my ranking is staying there only for sometimes. So now what I should to do for getting my ranking in 1 to 10 in Google. Give me your suggestion and ideas. |

| The important thing is to read as much as you can, get educated on how SEO and PageRanks work then start building quality content. If you post on any forums regularly put your link in so curious people can check out your stuff. Over time, if you work hard and have quality work your rank will grow. Good luck! |

| Some keywords really get my site on the top 10 list of Google and I use Hittail to check out what keywords really get me to that place. This is being helpful since the time I started using Hittail. |

| Search for 'Alexa' as well as they offer the most searched keywords very regularly, allowing you to stay up to date on what to include when trying to optimize your writing. There are quite a few resources on SEO that will help you out when you're just starting as well as keep you up to date as you go. |

| Alexa site rating isn't so clearly known to me, I tried to understand it but not so sure how it really works out, but many really prefer to use Alexa rating on the site. What does the rating 12 really imply for a blog?? |
| |||
| I know that to get a high rating on Alexa, one must download and used their tool bar. I don't really think that Alexa is a reliable way to measure your site. |
| |||
| I tried to download Alexa but could get to do it. It somehow made me feel to be not much reliable, on the other hand hittail was providing good keywords with which my blogs were viewed on the google search engine. |

| Sorry, I was just suggesting Alexa as it was one of the few that I had referenced before. I know to make proper use of it you really do have to download their tool bar and that's something that I'm not prepared to do. There are other resources out there as well, you just need to search around for top SEO keywords. |

I already know that good keyword is the one that could give your blog a good position on Google, but my problem is will Google give me a good position if I will to take away the links to the traffic exchange which I have connected in the past. |
| |||
| I'm not sure what you mean regarding 'taking away links from the past' but if you're talking about getting rid of back-linking and everything then I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Those kind of resources don't 'punish' your Page Rank as far as I know so I wouldn't worry about getting rid of them. Tell me if that's not what you meant in the last post though. |

| Ok actually I have heard about traffic exchanges and Google knocking down your page rank as a result of them. Sorry for the misunderstanding. In that case it's probably best to take the slower, steadier approach to improving your rank because if Google is going to take you down because of it then it's futile to rely on them as anything but a short-term cash grab. |
