Team Explorer 2008 installation error

Hi,

I am trying to install Team Explorer 2008 installation on my PC and get a error "The Application Data folder for Visual Studio could not be created". Any idea about the problem. Desktop is Windows XP Professional SP2.

quick suggestion is to turn off your anti-virus software before the installation. My initial response is that this issue might be caused during installing the VS shell. During the installation, could you first install the VS shell, then install the Team Explorer plug-in? if the error message occurs during VS shell installation, I will help you move this thread to the VS setup forum.

If you meet this issue when install the Team Explorer plug-in, is the a Cancel button for the error dialog? If so please click it and check if the installation can proceed. After the installation, if you meet the same error message again when launching VS, please try running "devenv /setup" from the installation folder of VS 2008.

This works fine on my PC. I am trying to install on our user PC and it works on few of them and it didn't on two PC. I will update you some time this week.
