Hi.
I have some websites (most running on various CMS) .
I have somewhat decent coding skills, but I need some things done that I don't know how to do. So I have been thinking about having a freelancer do some work on them.

I am wondering:
what advice would you give me going forward?
where are good places to look for freelancers (I know of scriptlance and freelancelocaltech.com)

One thing I want their help with is integrating the log-ins and user info for two sites. Could I do this relatively easily myself?

Hi,

If you are already familiar with PHP, then i think you should go on doing this urself, as i think this will not be a very tough task...

Or else if you need any recommendation for ur work, just post ur task request here, and we can try to help you to start that work in any way we can help it

Thanks
Shiva...

Thanks Shiva!

I am glad I found this forum.

I am going to search then for some information on integrating passwords and try to do it myself. And if I get stuck with something I post about it. Do you happen to know any good sources for info on doing this kind of thing?

About php:
I took some courses that covered html, css, mysql in uni (besides just learning on my own over the last four years). One course also touched on php, but too briefly. I try to learn a bit as I go from sites like w3schools.com, but I don't have a lot of time so I am still pretty inexperienced.

Hi,

If you could elaborate your requirements in more details, we could provide our suggestions more clearly...

For Code snippets you can look for hotscripts.com, which hosts a wide variety of code in different categories...

Thanks
Shiva...

Hi Shiva,

Thanks for the link to hotscripts. I have visited the site before but I did not realise that they had snippets of code like this. They also have some interesting PHP tutorials too.

One specific integration I want to do is wordpress + zen cart.
I found one article on it but it looks like an unreliable solution. Wordpress - Zen Cart integration « N0T a Blog

And then I found a workaround someone did where they just designed the wordpress and zen cart to look alike and "connected" them with tabs at the top. I could live with that. Integrate Zen into Joomla - Zen Cart Support

My question really is more general though. I would like to learn how to integrate username across current and future sites to create something seamless, like Google Accounts. It looks like hotscripts is probably the best place for me to look into learning how to do that.

Thanks again!
